ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF THERMOPHILIC FUNGUS MALBRANCHEA PULCHELLA VAR. SULFUREA

Abstract

The antifungal activity of six isolates of Malbranchea pulchella var. sulfurea was assayed against four different test organisms viz. Acremonium alabamensis, Humicola lanuginosa, Thermoascus sp. and Thermomucor indicae-seudaticae in agar medium, Among six isolates of Malbranchea, APMO6 was found to give better yield of anti-fungal component .The effect of different factors on the production of anti-fungal component is discussed.
