The Changes in protein content and peroxidase activity were observed in two species of Kalanchoe, namely K. pinnata and K. daigremonitiana, while anatomical changes were observed in K. pinnata only. The drifts were observed applying chloramphenicol, a putative inhibitor of protein synthesis. In K. pinnata, total protein content rose to high level twice with initiation of rooting and sprouting. In K. daigremontiana, the protein content showed regular rhythmic fluctuations except for an upsurge just prior to rooting. The total peroxidase activity during differentiation indicates that this enzyme system is not directly involved in a significant way. Histological changes revealed different stages of cellular arrangements during differentiation.

CHROMOSOMES OF BROWN DOG TICK RHIPICEPHALUS SANGUINEUS LATERELLE (ACARINA ; IXODIDAE)
Karyotype, sex determination and meiosis were studied in Rhipicephalus sanguineus Laterelle. Diploid numbers in males and females are 21 and 22 respectively, thus indicating an XO: XX type sex determining mechanism. All the chromosomes are acrocentric and the sex chromosomes are largest in the complement. Polyploid cells have been reported in both sexes of the species while subdiploid and hyperdiploid numbers are of common occurance.

GENETICS AND ASSOCIATION STUDIES OF POD SHAPE IN VEGETABLE COWPEA (VIGNA UNGUICULATA (L.) WALP)
The association between pod shape, pod length and seed size
were highly significant but the Chi-square test between pod shape and pod
filling depicted independence or very weak association between the two
characters.

ISOETES PANTIL IS A NATURAL HYBRID : I. SAMPATHKUMARINI X I. COROMANDELINA
Population cytogenetic studies in natural
populations of Isoetes from Narsinghgarh (MP) have revealed the presence of
diploid plants of I. coromandelina exhibiting microsporogenesis to yield n=11 +
1 B chromosomes at anaphase I. This is hypothesized that I. coromandelina
served as amale parent and I. sampathkumarini offered n= 33 + 1 chromosomes as
female gamete thus resulting in to a natural hybrid x Isoetes pantil. Evidences
are presented In this paper to support this hypothesis.

64 normal individuals of Gwalior-chemical division in terms of their
personality with the help of Uma Chowdhury's Indian adaptation of Thematic
Apperception Test. ANOVA shows that eunuchs scored : (1) significantly lower
imagination and language; (2) cordial interpersonal relationships and
optimistic outcomes; and (3) high abasement, nurturance, succorance and
