Zika Virus: Causes and Prevention

Zika virus is an emerging mosquito-borne flavivirus. Dengu and malaria are important mosquito -borne viral disease. Globally, dengu is the most common mosquito-borne viral disease, 390 million infections per year and 40% of the world's population at risk. Zika virus is transmitted by Ae, aegypti mosquitoes and originated from Africa and Asia. Zika virus is a single stranded RNA virus of 11000-nucleotide. Zika virus was first found in 1947 from a rhesus monkey. Zika virus is an arthropod borne virus (arbovirus). Zika virus was first isolated from 1947. A virus can be transmitted by one from another by bite. Zika virus is globally spread disease. Zika virus is transmitted or spread by Aedes mosquitoes. Zika virus belongs to the family flavivirus. Not only, spread by Aedes mosquito but also spread by sexual transmission, blood transfusion etc. Zika virus causes a neurological disease in humans.

Spy Camera Epidemic in Korea: A Situational Analysis

This paper is aimed at assessing the problem of the spy camera epidemic in Korea. The paper used data and periodic reports from the Korean National Police Agency, the Korean Women Lawyers Association, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and other concerned organizations. As findings showed, between 2013 to 2017 there have been over 6,000 spycam cases each year, and more than 90 percent of the victims were women; on the contrary, the majority of the perpetrators were men. The perpetrators used public spaces like subway stations, buses, taxis, banks, swimming pools, supermarkets, and even bookstores; spy cams were also installed in private places like hotels, motels, guesthouses, and private houses. Consequently, on May 19, 2018, around 20,000 women went out to the street to protest against spy camera, and more than 200,000 women signed a petition on the ban of a spy cam. As a result, the government employed 50 workers and planned to employ around 8,000 additional workers to check for cameras over 20,000 public toilets. However, in fact, decreased, a spy camera crime is still a pressing issue in Korea.

Noise Pollution: Past, Present and Future

The purpose of the present paper was to review the literature to ''effects on environment and people of noise pollution''. Classroom noise is related to stress reactions among high school children. So, noise is increasingly day by day. Noise is pervasive in during everyday life. Noise is an prominent feature of the environment. Noise means "unwanted sound". Railway noise exposure to effects on blood pressure on the cohort population. Exposure to air craft and road traffic noise are associated with physiological symptoms. Sound is a physical phenomenon that propagate in all directions from source. Sound cannot propagate with space. Noise pollution also cause depression, memory loss, and panic attacks.

Assessment of Fish Biodiversity in Basuakhali Beel under Terokhada Upazilla, Khulna, Bangladesh

The present study was carried out for a period of five months from July 2017 to November 2017 to assess the fish biodiversity applying diversity indices for existing fish species in Basuakhali beel under Terokhada upazilla, Khulna, Bangladesh. During the study, a total of 38 fish species including 34 native and 4 exotic fish species were recorded under 21 families belonging to 10 orders. Cypriniformes (31.58%) was found as the most dominant order followed by Perciformes (18.42%), Siluriformes and Channiformes (10.53%), Synbranchiformes and Decapoda (7.89%), Tetraodontiformes (5.27%), Beloniformes, Cyprinodontiformes and Osteoglossiformes (2.63%) respectively. Almost 57.89% of species were found least concern, 13.16% near threatened, 10.53% vulnerable, 2.63% endangered and 15.79% were found not threatened in the biodiversity of Basuakhali beel. During the study period average Shannon-Weaver diversity index (H') value was highest in Rumer beel (2.38 ±0.10) and lowest in Gojalmari (1.40 ±0.15). Margalef richness index (d) value was highest in Rumer beel (3.69±0.58) and lowest in Abadh (1.55 ±0.31). Pielou’s evenness index (J’) value was highest in Abadh (0.49 ±0.13) and lowest in Kumromari (0.43 ±0.06). Pielou’s index (J´) showed the equal distribution pattern of fish species throughout the sampling area indicating a stable condition. Simpson dominance index (C) value was highest in Rumer beel (0.85 ±0.03) and lowest in Gojalmari (0.64 ±0.06). Eighteen different kinds of fishing gears were identified under 4 major groups including 5 nets (current jal, ber jal, thela jal, veshal jal and punti jal), 6 traps (guni, chari, charo, duor, tubo and polo), 4 hooks and line (koia borsi, dhun borsi, chip borshi and borshi), 3 wounding gears (koach, anta and jupi) in the beel. Besides, an inclusive management and conservation scheme is crying needed for the beel fishery to enrich the fish species diversity of the Basuakhali beel as well as the country.

Comparison of Performance of Indian Aviation Service Providers Using Multi-criteria Decision Models

The objective of this study is to compare the performance of players in the Indian aviation industry. The performance indicators for aviation service providers considered in the study include market share, operational efficiency, punctuality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The study uses the multi-criteria decision models Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to benchmark performance in the Indian aviation industry. The sample selected for the study comprise the top seven aviation service providers, viz. Indigo Airlines, Jet Airways, Air India, Spice Jet, Go Air, Air Asia, and Vistara. The results of the analysis would enable the aviation service providers to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and take appropriate steps to improve their performance.

Awareness, Readiness and Acceptance of the Students’ in Polytechnic of Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah on M-Learning

Using m-Learning is in line with the needs of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. It is one of the systematic steps towards optimizing the teaching and learning (T&L) process to be more exciting, fun and interactive. Through m-Learning, students can follow the T&L process anytime and anywhere. Thus, a study on m-Learning was conducted to assess the level of awareness, readiness and acceptance of students from the Department of Commerce’s, Polytechnic of Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (POLIMAS). This study used an open-ended and close-ended questions questionnaire. Respondents were 120 students in the second-semester who were selected through a purposive sampling. The aim was to acquire their opinion on m-Learning. Questionnaires were distributed to respondents using Google Forms application and respondents answered them by using their mobile devices. The URL link to Google Form was shared through the students’ WhatsApp groups and monitored using a Student Information Registration System name-list. The questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS software version 23.0. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage and mean were used in the analysis to evaluate the students’ feedback about m-Learning. The analysis of the findings show that the level of awareness, readiness and acceptance of POLIMAS students were at a moderate level towards m-Learning as a medium of T&L. This is because the use of m-Learning is still in an infancy stage in POLIMAS. Hence, the use of m-Learning should be enhanced and widely publicized at all levels within higher education in Malaysia.
